Book One is dedicated to Robert Murray-Smith.
Robert inspired me to dive into how things work — not just that they work.
He pushed me to build batteries, generators, and to really understand electricity: charge, current, magnets, coils, fields, and the interplay between them. He showed that you don't need a grid to create power. You just need motion and understanding.
If modern electronics are a language, Robert helped me learn the alphabet.
YouTube and classroom explanations opened those doors, but he gave me the framework to think about it, not just watch it.
Sadly, Robert faced unimaginable pain and loss. After his wife passed away from cancer, he chose to end his life — a heartbreaking reminder that brilliance and sorrow often walk together.
I'm not going to dive into the details here, but his influence is lifelong. He didn't just teach me about generators or voltage — he taught me curiosity, resilience, and the joy of understanding.
That's what Book One is built on.
But physics. Real, understandable physics.
And because I learned this stuff hands-on, I know it's accessible to others too — not locked in textbooks or hidden behind complex jargon.
We can all understand how things work. We just need to start with the fundamentals.
